Hong Khanh Nguyen — studied violin with professors Do The Phiet, Nguyen Khac Cung, Hoang Cuong at the Saigon National Conservatory of Music, where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance 1973, and also taught violin until 1988. In 1970, he was awarded 2nd Prize of The Esso National Violin Competition.  Mr. Nguyen had played with the National Symphony Orchestra for many years.  After his arrival in the United States in 1990, he has participated in various performances with the Chapman University Symphony Orchestra, the Long Beach University Symphony Orchestra, the Torrance Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra Institute and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Festival Symphony Orchestra, etc., and pursued his violin performance under professor Ernest Salem at the California State Fullerton University, studied conducting and chamber music at the Brooklyn Conservatory. A conductor of the Vietnamese American Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in the Cung Tiến Concert 1999 (Ebell Theater), 2001 (Houston,TX), 2010 (La Mirada Theater); Phm Duy: 2002 (La Mirada and Foot Hill College); Phạm Đình Chương:   2003 (La Mirada Theater), 2004 (Foot Hill College); Dương Thiệu Tước: 2008 (Rose Center Theater); Lê Văn Khoa 2008 ( Carpenter Auditorium) and all VAP other program from 1995  . He also is annual guest conductor for Saigon Ensemble program at San Jose. Mr. Nguyen is currently Music Director and Conductor of the Vietnamese- American Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and teaches violin at the Westminster Music School.
